Inspiration behind Rock Hound

Hello Peeps

Where I live, in the evening, there is a big fire pit and those that wish to end the day in good company will sit around and chat before going off for dinner.

There was this lovely man, Billy, who pulled a rock out of his pocket. A rock he found that day, and it was so very pretty and he asked if anyone knew what kind of rock it was. Everyone leaned in to admire the rock, hold it, look closely, and pass it off to the next person. There was much discussion about this rock the size of a peach pit.

No conclusion was had as to what kind of rock it was, however, for a moment every person became that little child who discovered that rock. That was my inspiration for this painting.
