The Inspiration behind Train Bridge

Updated: Jun 12

This one is 100% perspective, technical and beauty. There is no grand story behind this painting except that I was kayaking on day at Kilby BC and said, WHOA, now there is a shot.

I am not a photographer, but as an artist, I do have an eye for composition and interest. The top 1/3 is of oil paint because I wanted the crisp detail of the fine lines and to capture the rivets, but also the flatness that oil paints will provide. Below the bridge is the glossy fluidity of encaustic for the blur and the shine. Just as I saw it that magical day.

Bam, nailed my vision.

Peace in your journey
